Many of us do not realize how important water consumption is in our weight loss efforts. If you are serious about losing fat, then you really need to get drinking…water that is! Without enough water, your body cannot metabolize stored fat properly and efficiently. If you are not consuming at least 80 ounces of water a day, you could be seriously hindering your weight loss efforts. Even mild dehydration can slow your metabolism down by 3 percent. For a 150 pound person, that results in an extra 5 pounds of stubborn fat each year!
Water makes up more than 70% of our bodies and is responsible for carrying nutrients and oxygen to the cells, getting rid of toxins, keeping blood volume up, regulating our body temperature and also tones muscle. Water gives you energy, so being dehydrated makes you feel sluggish and craving sugar! A lack of water makes your body hold onto every last drop, resulting in swollen hands, legs, feet and eyes causing your weight to increase anywhere from 5-15 pounds! Although it may seem counter productive, the most efficient way to get rid of bloat, is to drink more water!
So drink up!!!!
